HOMECOMING: FEAR LA
So there has been a lot of rumors & speculations about building a stadium in Los Angeles & possibly bringing a selection of few NFL teams to LA or in some cases back to LA. There have been rumors that the Oakland Raiders (my favorite team) may make a return to the city of angels but may also share the stadium with a local rival the San Diego Chargers. In other news, there has also been an attempt that the St. Louis Rams are also trying to make a return back to the big city. If any city deserves an NFL team it's my home being Los Angeles. We are all about winning & though we have not had a team of our own in decades we have plenty of supporters around the city. LA locals tend to root on teams like the Oakland Raiders & San Diego Chargers which who I stated before are in the running in possibly calling LA home.
Being that I am a Raiders fan I tend to rather not see the Chargers in Los Angeles but if that bring my favorite team closer to me & plenty of others to come & watch them play then if sharing is caring then I'm sure we care enough to share our turf with the rivals. Not sure why the Chargers would relocate in my eyes due to the San Diego fans being very loyal to their Chargers & the fact that they currently have their own stadium of their own. The Oakland Raiders currently share a stadium with the Oakland A's (MLB) & the Dark Hole currently gets a lot of criticism of their field due to the dirt still being on spots of the field during Raider games but that comes from A's games. The Raiders are in need of a new stadium.
The only thing close to a NFL team Los Angeles currently holds is USC Trojans football & the upcoming success of UCLA Bruins football. Though both teams have brought great success to the city & fans I'm sure us LA locals would love to tend a Sunday game after seeing our Bruins or Trojans play on Saturdays.
One of the bigger topics within this topic is location. There has been a lot of options as to where the stadium may locate in Los Angeles due to it being so huge & overly populated a lot of things must be taken into consideration. And for anyone who lives, been, or is from Los Angeles you know one of the biggest issues the city has is TRAFFIC. LA is currently the 2nd largest population rank under New York City so location has to be pivotal when coming to a conclusion. There has been rumors of it being located in Downtown Los Angeles which I believe & I'm sure many other agree would be stupidity. The downtown culture of Los Angeles is currently on rise as to foot traffic, street traffic, businesses, & living spaces & it's a beautiful thing to see downtown finally come to life. And just have this label of being just "The Staple Center" (which is home of the Los Angeles Lakers). So the upcoming scene of downtown is something to look forward too but adding a stadium, not just a restaurant or movie theater but a stadium to the downtown location would make traffic 10x worst than what downtown's traffic already is to date.
Below are a few layouts & ideas of what the stadium could look like, where it could be located & also what to expect from the Los Angeles Stadium if that ends up being the name. I recently came across a report that building the stadium in the Inglewood/LAX area is a option in which makes the most since in due to keeping a fare ground around Los Angeles as a whole. Though Inglewood California is technically it's on place - if you're from LA or even Inglewood you understand & know that Inglewood is still LA. With Inglewood getting the rebuilt Inglewood Forum 9where the Los Angeles Lakers used to play when they first came here form Minneapolis) it think that's a great way to contribute to the rise of that side of town & give Los Angles as a whole more value & reason to be labeled the best city in the world if it isn't that already.
Regardless of what team we may receive whether it being a new team added to the NFL a team brought from another city to the NFL or a team we've already had at one time. Los Angeles deserves a NFL team & I couldn't be happier to see all the rumors & ideas float around to make this possibly happen. It's about time & one thing I know as a city that we can guarantee is that we will support whomever win, lose, or draw. Lets bring this home!
