J. Cole has always been a very humbled artist no matter what type of success that was achieved by him. Very well spoken, very understandable, & very relatable. Last year he deiced to do a tour called "The Dollar & A Dream Tour" which allowed fans to see him perform live at a venue for only $1. Last year's tour consisted of the his classic mixtape "The Warm Up" so the tour was based around him performing all the songs off the tape along with surprise guest like Drake & Kendrick Lamar. This time around the Dollar & A Dream Tour consisted of his follow up classic mixtape "Friday Night Lights". Friday Night Lights may be my favorite body of work curated by Cole so when I knew this was happening I definitely decided to find me way to the venue.

I had the kind pleasure of being able to be a media cover to the show which allowed me to have access to just about anywhere in the venue except for of course Cole's dressing room. Amazing experience to see the whole Dreamville team & meet everyone & to interact with them not as artist or celebrities but as just people - people that have a natural talent to make quality music that parts of the world enjoy. Being that I was media coverage & according to the rules I was solidified to shooting anyone & anything besides J. Cole when it was his time to hit the stage I definitely made sure to make the best of my opportunity.

The event took place at The Wiltern theater located on Wilshire & Western in Los Angeles & over thousands of kids were lined up & slept overnight at the location before J. Cole even announced the place & time, somehow these kids knew & were ready with their dollars in hand. Through all the wildness going on outside & the long waits, here is what I was able to capture during my time there.

In my archives I have photos of Bas as well who is another Dreamville artist signed to J. Cole but the images did not come out that well which I am pretty bummed about but I did make up for them. Remember when I stated I was not allowed to take photos of J. Cole? Well I did break the rules a bit but it was all out of someone not doing their job & making sure that it didn't happen. I had saved 3 shots on my final roll for Cole just in case I got the chance to take photos of him & that golden opportunity arrived. Though I had 3 shots left 2 came out good enough to present so here goes nothing...

Special thank you to the whole Dreamville staff for bringing me in & treating me like family for a day. Truly appreciate you all for the hospitality & generosity. Special thank you's to Cozz, Matt, Enimal, Caity, Bass, Josh, Niko, & anyone else that had to do with my appearance!
